Bryan Darger

Class of:
2019
Medical School:
University of Texas at Houston
EM Interests:
The spectrum of EM’s clinical practice from palliative to critical care, neurologic emergencies, QI/safety research, education (big fan of the #FOAMed movement), and improving the intersection between technology and medicine.
Interesting Fact:
Between college and medical school I taught high school chemistry, astronomy, and special education for three years in Houston, TX through the Teach For America program. My former students are amazing people, and taught me many things that I will undoubtedly use in my career.
Future Plans:
Work hard over the next four years to become a clinically excellent emergency physician, and try to build the foundation for a career in academic medicine where I can balance clinical work, teaching, and research with a sustainable and enjoyable life outside the hospital. Maybe eventually follow Dr. John Halamka’s lead and learn to do sustainable farming / beekeeping. Or perhaps learn the Peruvian art of alpaca husbandry, and combine it with my fiancée’s talent for textile craft and build an alpaca empire worth billions.
