This is a pilot study to determine if children living within a mile of industrial facilities in West Berkeley and West Oakland, CA have an elevated exposure to heavy metals. Seventy children will have whole blood measurements of manganese and cadmium. Twelve homes will have environmental testing. GIS mapping will be employed to analyse the results.
