Aaron Kornblith, MD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Kornblith practices clinically at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFGH), where he teaches housestaff. He is the Director of Pediatric Emergency Ultrasound, for which he educates faculty, residents and medical students both locally and nationally on the use of point-of-care ultrasound in pediatric emergencies. Likewise, Dr. Kornblith’s research focus is on the development of diagnostic ultrasound in caring for sick and injured children. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Kornblith was a pediatric emergency and pediatric ultrasound fellow at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland where he was awarded Teaching Fellow of the Year. He completed his emergency medicine residency at UCSF-SFGH, during which time he served as chief resident and was awarded Graduating Resident of the Year.
Dr. Kornblith's research program, funded by the NIH, NSF, the Pediatric Device Consortium, and the University of California, is dedicated to enhancing the diagnostic evaluation of sick and injured children through advanced data analytics, rigorous clinical trial validation, and translational acceleration. His research mission is to advance and deliver timely, expert-level emergency care for injured children, integrating safe, fair, and accurate AI-enhanced diagnostic strategies, driving precision medicine forward and improving access to care across all healthcare settings.
