Clinical Research
The new Emergency Medicine Clinical Research Fellowship Program is a one year program designed to provide the training and experience necessary to become an independent investigator. It is our goal that fellows will go on to obtain subsequent grant funding to further their research careers.
The UCSF Department of Emergency Medicine offers a wealth of research training opportunities including exposure to multiple NIH funded ED researchers and didactic training through the Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) at UCSF. Fellows are expected to complete a mentored research project and present their results at a scientific meeting.
As part of the Research Fellow’s training, the fellow will participate in the year long Advanced Training in Clinical Research Certificate Program at UCSF. The tuition will be paid by the Department of Emergency Medicine. In addition, the fellow will work clinically as an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Moffitt Long Hospital (six days per month). Interested applicants should be graduates of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
